How to explore the best arts and crafts festivals in Pine, Arizona

Pine, Arizona may be a great small-town mountain getaway in Arizona’s Mogollon Rim, but it has a big arts and crafts scene. Three times each year, the Pine-Strawberry Arts and Crafts Guild brings local artisans of all media together to showcase their wares and offer them for sale.

The Arts and Crafts Guild is a nonprofit that promotes and encourages the efforts of talented local craftsmen and artists by offering a venue for them to show and sell their work. Every Saturday and Sunday on the weekends of Memorial Day, July 4 and Labor Day draw crowds of artists exhibiting their creations at Pine’s Community Center at these special juried festivals.

With vast numbers of applicants competing for a slot at one of less than 90 booths, a guild committee evaluates applications to select the most impressive work to display at the events. In addition to the variety of entrants in the events, guild members themselves offer their work for sale in a boutique room.

All shows begin at 8 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. each day, with a pancake breakfast offered starting at the beginning of each event day. Proceeds benefit the Mountain Village Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring the needs of local children and families are met. For those attendees who prefer other culinary options to pancakes, the event features numerous other food vendors, and the town of Pine has some other great restaurant options.

Visitors from the Valley of the Sun will find the festivals an excellent opportunity for a weekend getaway to cooler weather and mountain scenery while shopping for some unique and charming souvenirs.
